EQ Pilot Program
Overview
Energy Quotient™ is providing early access to a select group of partners through our Pilot Program. This initiative is designed for organizations who want to be part of shaping the next generation of power quality and energy intelligence — and who are ready to deploy our system in real-world conditions.

EQ Lab Gateway
Continuous waveform monitoring for research labs, classrooms, and testbeds
The EQ Lab Gateway brings the same continuous waveform monitoring platform we deploy in industrial environments into a compact, lab-friendly form factor. Built on a Raspberry Pi 5 with a 1 TB NVMe SSD, it runs EQ Sight for real-time waveform visualization and includes JupyterLab for hands-on data analysis. AI-powered diagnostics through EQ Syntropy are available as a remote service when deeper analysis is needed.
It is designed for universities, research groups, and training programs that need real waveform data, not simulated cases.
What is included
EQ Gateway hardware
- Raspberry Pi 5 with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB NVMe SSD
- EQ Sight for real-time waveform visualization and event timelines
- JupyterLab environment for data exploration and custom analysis
- Boots directly into EQ Sight with full local access to waveform data
- Media converter for fiber-to-copper connection to EQ Wave sensors
EQ Wave sensor
- EQ Wave v1.2 sensor node with 32 kHz continuous point-on-wave sampling (32 ksps per channel)
- 7-channel monitoring (3-phase voltage + 4 current) at 24-bit resolution
- Fiber optic isolation via 100Base-FX plastic optical fiber
- Media converter included for fiber-to-copper connection to the gateway
Software and analytics
- EQ Sight — Real-time dashboards, waveform viewing, harmonic analysis, and event timelines, served locally from the gateway
- JupyterLab — Python notebooks with direct access to Parquet data files for custom analysis, teaching materials, and research workflows
- equser Python SDK — The same open-source library published on PyPI runs on-device. Use it as-is, extend it, or integrate it into custom workflows
- EQ Syntropy (remote) — AI-powered diagnostics, anomaly classification, and root cause analysis available as a remote service, connecting to an EQ-hosted server when needed
- Secure remote support — VPN-based access for setup assistance and software updates
Data access modes
The Lab Gateway supports the same data access paths available on all EQ gateways:
- Raw Parquet files — Direct access to full-fidelity waveform data for offline analysis and reproducible research
- Gateway Data Lake API — Structured access to waveform and derived data via local edge API
- Live streaming metrics — 10/12-cycle derived metrics at 5 Hz for dashboarding and near-real-time monitoring
- On-demand waveform snapshot — Live waveform pull from gateway with deterministic access to raw signal segments
- AI server hooks — Integration with EQ-hosted AI inference services (when EQ Syntropy remote is enabled)
Architecture
The developer-facing layer is Python. The core signal pipeline — continuous waveform acquisition, framing, buffering, storage orchestration, and deterministic handoff — is implemented in Rust for deterministic performance, memory safety, and data integrity.
Who this is for
- Grid modernization and power systems labs — Continuous waveform data for inverter-dominated grid research, DER interaction studies, and microgrid testbeds
- Power electronics and converter testbeds — High-resolution capture of switching transients, harmonic injection, and control interactions
- Workforce development and training programs — Hands-on power quality analysis using real waveform data and industry-standard tools
- Senior design and graduate courses — Accessible platform for student projects with Python notebooks and open data formats
Pricing
EQ Lab Gateway (Education and Research)
- Price: USD $2,000 per complete node (EQ Wave v1.2 sensor + EQ Lab Gateway + media converter)
- Introductory pricing for education, research, and evaluation use. Not intended for production monitoring.
- Includes: EQ Wave v1.2 sensor, preconfigured Raspberry Pi 5 gateway with EQ Sight, JupyterLab, media converter, POF cable, and setup support
- Additional sensors: Extra EQ Wave v1.2 nodes can be added for multi-point monitoring
The EQ Wave v1.2 is our current-generation sensor designed for lab and research environments. When the UL/FCC-certified EQ Wave v2 becomes available for production and industrial use, lab customers will receive preferred upgrade pricing.
Participating labs also receive preferred pricing on production EQ Gateway hardware, with credit toward pilot or production deployments.
How it is used
- Monitor lab feeders, test bays, or microgrid benches with continuous point-on-wave data
- Visualize live waveforms, harmonics, and power quality events through EQ Sight
- Run custom analyses in JupyterLab using Python, NumPy, and direct Parquet access
- Build course materials and reproducible research workflows on the same platform used in industrial deployments
- Connect to EQ Syntropy for AI-assisted event classification and diagnostics when deeper analysis is needed
