How It Works

The Energy Quotient platform keeps one continuous waveform record at every monitored point, and everything else works from it. Monitoring, standards reports, and root-cause investigations all draw on the same cycles, so a question asked weeks later still has the evidence to answer it.

The steps below summarize the path from installation to a root cause. The user guide carries the detail for each one.

1. Choose the Measurement Points

Start where a disturbance costs the most: feeders to sensitive production equipment, the UPS and transfer path, loads that trip without explanation, and the service entrance, which shows what arrives from the utility.

2. Install EQ Wave

EQ Wave™ mounts on a DIN rail, by adhesive, or by magnet. A qualified electrician connects the voltage taps and current sensors to its push-in terminals and powers it from DC or AC. A fiber-optic link carries its data to the gateway, which keeps the measured circuit isolated from the network. The installation guide covers wiring for each system type, safety, and mounting.

3. Connect the Gateway

The EQ Gateway runs EQ Coherence™, which records every sample from each sensor gap-free, on your premises. Once the fiber link is up, the sensor appears in EQ Sight™, which the gateway serves to a web browser. The gateway needs no internet connection, and a facility network connection is optional too. On the facility network, any browser on site can open EQ Sight. An internet uplink adds remote access, remote support, and EQ-hosted AI. The quick start walks through the connection and the checks that confirm it.

4. Monitor

EQ Sight shows live waveforms, events, and history down to a single cycle. With EQ Syntropy™, every circuit is watched continuously for threshold crossings, shifts in power factor and harmonics, and load steps, and each event lands on a shared timeline across devices.

5. Analyze and Report

Standards metrics (IEEE 519, IEC 61000-4-30 and 61000-4-7, SEMI F47, and ITIC) are computed from the record for any period already recorded. Engineers can ask EQ Syntropy questions in plain language, have it write and run Python for custom KPIs and plots, or reach the raw samples from their own tools through open APIs and an MCP server. EQ Syntropy drafts reports and session summaries with your engineers, and every figure links to the waveform behind it, so a reviewer can check the evidence.

6. Investigate a Root Cause

When equipment trips, the waveform from before, during, and after is already on record. An engineer can ask why a drive tripped at 2:14 a.m., and EQ Syntropy relates events across sensors, runs the analyses, and answers with the cycles that show the cause. Every analysis it runs is recorded, so any conclusion can be audited afterward. For an investigation that needs our engineers on site, EQ Forensics™ uses the same platform as its instrument.
